Abstract

The metaverse is poised to revolutionize education by creating immersive, interactive, and personalized learning environments. By integrating virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and blockchain technologies, the metaverse offers new pathways for collaborative learning, gamification, and experiential pedagogy. This chapter explores the foundational concepts of the metaverse in education, highlighting its transformative potential in curriculum design, learner engagement, and educator roles. It also discusses the challenges related to equity, accessibility, digital ethics, and infrastructure.
