Abstract

This study examines the chemical processes involved in waste-to-energy (WTE) technologies, focusing on their efficiency and feasibility as sustainable solutions for waste management and energy recovery. Various chemical conversion methods such as pyrolysis, gasification, anaerobic digestion, and incineration are analyzed in terms of energy output, environmental impact, and operational challenges. The study highlights advancements in catalyst development, process optimization, and integration with renewable energy systems. Furthermore, economic and technical feasibility aspects are discussed to assess the viability of large-scale implementation. The review concludes with recommendations for future research aimed at enhancing WTE processes to meet growing energy demands while minimizing environmental footprints.
