Abstract

Access to quality healthcare remains a persistent challenge in rural communities due to geographic isolation, shortage of medical professionals, and limited healthcare infrastructure. Telemedicine has emerged as a transformative solution to mitigate these disparities by enabling remote diagnosis, consultation, and treatment through digital platforms. This paper explores the impact of telemedicine in enhancing healthcare accessibility for rural populations, analyzing its effectiveness in addressing critical gaps in service delivery. It highlights key areas where telemedicine has improved patient outcomes, reduced travel burdens, and provided timely medical attention. Additionally, the study discusses the barriers to telemedicine adoption, including technological, regulatory, and socioeconomic factors, and suggests strategies to maximize its potential. The findings underscore the importance of sustained investment, policy support, and community engagement in promoting telehealth initiatives for rural healthcare equity.
