IMPORTANCE OF INCORPORATION AND USEFULNESS OF AI IN THE ONLINE EDUCATION SYSTEM

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into online education is reshaping the framework of traditional education worldwide, as well as in India. AI-driven technologies are enabling more personalized learning experiences by delivering tailored content and instant feedback to students. Adaptive learning systems, supported by AI, are customizing instructional material based on individual learner needs, thereby boosting both engagement and academic performance. For educators, AI is proving beneficial by automating routine administrative duties, allowing more time and energy to be directed toward actual teaching. Moreover, AI is playing a crucial role in reducing educational disparities between urban and rural regions by ensuring wider access to high-quality learning resources, regardless of location. Notable outcomes include enhanced student engagement and improved academic skills through tools such as Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS) and adaptive learning platforms. For example, applications like Carnegie Learning’s MATHia have contributed to a 10–20% improvement in students’ test scores by offering real-time feedback. Despite these advancements, several challenges persist—most notably the digital divide, concerns over data privacy, and the pressing need to train teachers in the effective use of AI technologies. Addressing these issues is essential to fully leverage the transformative ability of AI in India's education sector.
