Athletes at all levels are susceptible to concussions, which are a serious risk in contact sports. The role of the physiotherapist in concussion prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation is examined in this chapter. It explores pathophysiology, risk factors, and damage processes, highlighting both extrinsic and intrinsic aspects. There includes a thorough discussion of preventive measures such baseline testing, rule enforcement, education, protective gear, and strength and conditioning programs. Additionally, the chapter discusses acute care and on-field guidelines for immediate post-concussion management. It also emphasizes physiotherapy interventions such as graded exercise therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, and oculomotor therapy. Cognitive rehabilitation techniques and a systematic Return-to-Play (RTP) methodology guarantee a safe recovery while lowering long-term dangers. The chapter concludes with a call for collaborative efforts among physiotherapists, sports organizations, and medical professionals to enhance athlete safety and promote best practices in concussion care.Published
