The organizational principle for accomplishing human development goals while simultaneously maintaining natural systems' ability to provide the natural resources and ecosystem services that the economy and society rely on is known as sustainable development. The targeted outcome is a state of society in which living environments and resources are utilized to suit human needs without harming the natural system's integrity and stability. Sustainable development is defined as development that meets current needs while not affecting future generations' ability to meet their own needs. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a blueprint for a more sustainable and better future for everyone. With the goal of advancing the success of the Millennium Development Goals, the United Nations (UN) General Assembly adopted the document "Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" on September 25, 2015, which includes 17 Sustainable 169 targets and development goals, The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) went into effect on January 1, 2016. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of global goals addressing social, economic, and environmental concerns. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) establish an international framework for achieving more equal, peaceful, resilient, and prosperous societies by 2030 while remaining within environmentally sustainable boundaries. The SDGs are not legally enforceable, but they have become an international social responsibility with the ability to realign countries' domestic spending priorities till 2030. Different Nations are expected to take responsibility of these goals and create a national framework to achieve them. Implementation of these goals and the level of success will be determined by each country's own policies, strategies, and programmes for sustainable development. This paper will try to focus on India’s progress towards achieving these goals, mainly on first five i.e. No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-Being, Quality Education, Gender Equality. In this paper we also try to look for challenges and future roadmap for achieving these Sustainable Development Goals.Published
