Abstract

This research explores the pedagogical value of Leo Tolstoy’s short story “A Spark Neglected Burns the House” in promoting peace education. The story, with its universal themes of conflict escalation, pride, and reconciliation, provides a fertile ground for teaching nonviolence, empathy, and conflict resolution. Using literary analysis and pedagogical frameworks, this article outlines how educators can incorporate Tolstoy's narrative into peace education curricula to nurture ethical awareness, critical thinking, and interpersonal harmony among learners.
