Abstract

Blended learning has emerged as a transformative approach in higher education, integrating traditional face-to-face instruction with online learning modalities. This comprehensive review explores the evolution, models, benefits, challenges, and effectiveness of blended learning in university-level education. Drawing from a wide range of empirical studies and theoretical frameworks, the review highlights how blended learning enhances student engagement, promotes personalized learning experiences, and improves academic performance. It also examines the role of technology, faculty readiness, institutional policies, and student attitudes in shaping successful blended learning environments. Despite its potential, challenges such as digital divide, lack of training, and pedagogical redesign remain critical. The study underscores the need for continuous evaluation, adaptive strategies, and stakeholder collaboration to maximize the impact of blended learning in higher education. The findings provide a roadmap for educators, administrators, and policymakers aiming to implement or enhance blended learning initiatives in universities.
