Abstract

Virtual Reality (VR) technology is rapidly transforming the landscape of higher education by offering immersive and interactive learning environments that enhance experiential learning. This study explores the profound impact of VR on the experiential learning process, emphasizing its ability to provide real-world simulations, foster active engagement, and accommodate diverse learning styles. VR environments replicate real-life scenarios with a high degree of fidelity, enabling students to practice skills, experiment with concepts, and experience otherwise inaccessible environments in a risk-free manner. By bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, VR enhances learning outcomes and increases student retention. The adaptability of VR to various disciplines—from medicine and engineering to arts and humanities—underscores its potential as a versatile educational tool. Additionally, VR facilitates collaborative learning, enabling students to work together in shared virtual spaces irrespective of geographical barriers. Challenges such as high implementation costs, technological limitations, and accessibility issues are acknowledged, alongside strategies to overcome them. The findings underscore the transformative potential of VR in creating an inclusive, innovative, and interactive educational paradigm. This study concludes by advocating for the integration of VR technologies into curriculum design to prepare students for dynamic, real-world challenges.
