Abstract

The integration of edge computing into hazard detection and warning systems offers a promising solution to enhance road safety and reduce accidents. By leveraging real-time data from various sources such as vehicle telemetry, environmental sensors, and traffic infrastructure, these systems can detect potential hazards and accidents instantaneously. This enables timely notifications to relevant authorities, emergency services, or drivers, facilitating swift responses and improving overall incident management. Additionally, incorporating extended reality (XR) technologies helps address safety challenges faced by vulnerable road users, enhancing awareness and reducing human error. The combination of edge computing, real-time data analytics, and XR provides a comprehensive approach to preventing accidents and promoting safer transportation environments.
