Abstract

The integration of green skills into school curricula is a vital step towards fostering environmental awareness and promoting sustainability among future generations. This chapter explores the significance of incorporating green skills into educational frameworks, enabling students to develop the knowledge, attitudes, and practices necessary to address pressing environmental challenges. By analysing existing literature and best practices, we identify key strategies for effective integration, including project-based learning, interdisciplinary approaches, and community engagement. The findings suggest that integrating green skills into school curricula can enhance environmental awareness, promote eco-friendly behaviours, and empower students to become active participants in sustainable development. This chapter provides educators, policymakers, and stakeholders with a comprehensive understanding of the benefits and challenges associated with integrating green skills into school curricula, ultimately contributing to a more sustainable future. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of teacher training and support in ensuring successful implementation. By equipping educators with the necessary tools and resources, schools can create a culture of sustainability that extends beyond the classroom. Effective integration of green skills requires a holistic approach, incorporating both theoretical and practical aspects.
