Abstract

In an increasingly digital world, the integration of technology into environmental education is transforming how learners engage with sustainability issues. This chapter explores the intersection of digital innovation and green education, highlighting how digital tools—from online platforms and mobile apps to artificial intelligence (AI) and immersive technologies—can support Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). It examines how technology enhances access to environmental content, supports experiential learning, and fosters global collaboration. Through real-world examples and policy developments, the chapter also addresses key challenges such as digital inequality, data ethics, and teacher preparedness. Ultimately, it offers strategic guidance for leveraging technology to build digitally literate, environmentally conscious global citizens.
