Abstract

Incorporating green skills into higher education is essential to the shift to a sustainable and ecologically resilient future. Green skills, which include values, knowledge, and skills that support sustainable practices and environmental stewardship, are becoming more and more important in developing responsible professionals and global citizens. In order to address the urgent issues of climate change, resource depletion, and ecological degradation, this paper examines the importance of incorporating green skill development into higher education curricula. It highlights the need for a transformative pedagogical approach that blends theoretical knowledge with experiential and community-based learning while examining the present gaps in the Indian higher education system. The paper promotes a multidisciplinary, inclusive, and participatory framework for integrating green skills through policy analysis, case studies, and a review of national and international best practices.
