EVALUATION OF STOCK SELECTION AND MARKET TIMING ABILITY OF SELECT MID-CAP MUTUAL FUNDS OFFERING SYSTEMATIC INVESTMENT PLANS (SIP) TO THE INVESTORSIN THE POST COVID-19 PANDEMIC PERIOD

Abstract

Mutual funds offering systematic investment plans (SIPs) to the investors have incorporated a large section of small and marginal household investors in investment ecosystem to ensure mobilization of savings to form capital base in the country necessary for industrialization. Upon being indirectly exposed to the stock market, the said investors are subject to risks associated with the market. The present study shows the performance analysis of select mid-cap mutual funds offering SIPs to the investors in terms of stock selection and market timing ability of the fund managers with the objective to provide greater dimensions to the investors to analyze the performance of their mutual fund investments in more analytical way. This is likely to give them more insight of the funds as well as help them making financial decision appropriately.
