Abstract

This research examines the level of awareness and factors influencing digital payment adoption among street hawkers in Deoghar, Jharkhand, India an important Hindu pilgrimage place known for the Shrawanmela. A survey of 150 small dealers was performed to collect data. With the rise of digital payments across India, this study focuses on understanding how knowledgeable street hawkers are about digital transactions, barriers they face, and factors that promote their acceptance of cashless transactions. Through survey data from hawkers in Deoghar, the study analyses socio-demographic characteristics, payment acceptance trends, perceived benefits, challenges, and provides policy recommendations for digital inclusion among informal business sectors.
