Early childhood is a critical phase for shaping values, identity, and interpersonal understanding. Gender sensitization during this formative period plays a pivotal role in promoting equality, tolerance, and inclusive behaviour. This chapter explores the importance of introducing gender-sensitive practices in early childhood education (ECE), drawing from psychological, pedagogical, and socio-cultural perspectives. It examines curriculum content, classroom interactions, role models, and family-school collaboration in addressing gender bias. By fostering inclusive mindsets early, education systems can challenge traditional gender roles and stereotypes, ensuring that children grow up empowered and empathetic, regardless of their gender. Emphasis is also placed on aligning gender sensitization initiatives with the National Education Policy 2020 and Sustainable Development Goals. Practical strategies, case studies, and policy recommendations are discussed to guide educators and policymakers in implementing gender-sensitive pedagogy in early years.Published
