There is an increasing recognition of the need to integrate environmental management into Human Resource Management (HRM) practices, giving rise to Green HRM initiatives. Green HRM involves leveraging every employee interface to promote and maintain sustainable business practices, while fostering awareness that enables organizations to operate in an environmentally sustainable manner. This approach encompasses two pivotal elements: the adoption of environmentally friendly HR practices and the preservation of knowledge capital. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the current status and challenges of Green HRM practices in India, a relatively under-explored domain. Specifically, this research examines the Green HRM practices currently adopted by Indian organizations, their level of awareness and implementation, and the growth rate of Green HRM in the Indian context. This study assesses the success rate of implementing Green HRM practices, thereby addressing a significant knowledge gap in the realm of green human resource management in emerging economies like India. By exploring these aspects, this research aims to contribute to the development of sustainable HRM practices and inform strategies for environmentally responsible business operations in India.Published
