Teacher education is integral to shaping the quality of education within any nation, and its development has evolved significantly over the years. This paper explores the historical evolution of teacher education, from its informal beginnings in ancient societies to the formalized systems of modern-day training. It highlights the crucial role of teacher preparation in ensuring competent educators capable of navigating modern classrooms. Despite advancements, teacher education faces persistent challenges, such as inconsistent curricula, inadequate infrastructure, and outdated pedagogical methods. Barriers like policy bottlenecks, resistance to change, and limited funding further hinder the effective implementation of reforms. This paper discusses the constraints in quality management, such as weak enforcement of standards, insufficient faculty development, and technological gaps. Additionally, it outlines pathways to improve teacher education, including competency-based curricula, digital tools, and collaborative efforts across governmental and educational bodies. Addressing these challenges requires a multi-faceted approach, involving strategic investments, policy reforms, and the integration of innovative teaching methods. The paper concludes by emphasizing the importance of quality teacher education in building a future-ready education system.Published
