AI CREATING BARRIERS IN DEVELOPING EQUITY IN CLASSROOMS

Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into education has brought substantial benefits, from personalized learning pathways to adaptive assessments. However, alongside these advancements, AI can also inadvertently create barriers to inclusivity in classrooms. While AI has immense potential to assist diverse learners, it poses challenges related to bias, accessibility, equity, and the digital divide. This article explores these challenges and offers a critical examination of how AI may hinder the development of equity in classrooms.
