Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education is reshaping learning ecosystems by fostering human-AI partnerships that combine the unique strengths of both. Human intelligence contributes creativity, empathy, and contextual reasoning, while AI provides scalability, data-driven insights, and adaptive personalization. Grounded in principles such as complementarily, social constructivism, and Vygotsky’s Zone of Proximal Development, these collaborations support personalized instruction, intelligent tutoring systems, AI-assisted assessment, immersive learning, and emotion-aware technologies. However, challenges persist, including issues of equity, privacy, bias, and the preservation of human agency. Future research should address advanced AI capabilities, longitudinal impacts, and cross-cultural perspectives to ensure inclusivity. By prioritizing ethics and professional development, AI-enhanced education can transform teaching into mentorship, ensuring equitable, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences for all.
