ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND THE FUTURE OF ENGLISH SEMANTICS

Abstract

While no consensual definition of Artificial Intelligence (AI) exists, AI is broadly characterized as the study of computations that allow for perception, reason and action. The rapid evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the study and interpretation of English semantics, influencing not only linguistic theory but also communication, translation, and meaning-making across digital platforms. This research paper investigates the impact of AI on the semantic structures of the English language, exploring both its theoretical and practical implications. Using a mixed-method approach, the study combines computational analysis of AI-generated linguistic data with qualitative insights gathered through expert interviews with linguists, educators, and AI developers.
