Abstract

This study attempts to explore the perception on Life skills education among the teacher trainees concerning their locality. More specifically, Life skills and the sub-skills like self-awareness, empathy, coping with emotions, coping with stress, decision-making, problem-solving, creative thinking, critical thinking, effective communication and interpersonal relationship are important to impart into the existing curriculum. A sample of 47 teacher trainees from SASTRA Universty, Thanjavur were taken and their perception on life skills education was analyzed by survey method using life skills opinionative. The investigator analyzed the data and found that there is no significant difference in their opinion towards life skills education. The findings suggest that Life Skills Education plays a vital role in helping adolescents and children develop essential competencies for personal and social growth, underscoring the need for its inclusion as an integral component of teacher training programs and school curricula.
