Abstract

This chapter explores spiritual intelligence (SQ) as the highest dimension of human intelligence and its crucial role in realizing higher human potential. Whereas traditional models of intelligence emphasized logical reasoning (IQ) and emotional regulation (EQ), spiritual intelligence represents the capacity to act with wisdom, compassion, and inner peace in all life circumstances. It enables individuals to perceive meaning beyond material achievement, transforming consciousness from self-centered survival to self-transcendent living. Drawing on the insights of modern psychology, transpersonal research, neuroscience, and Indian philosophical thought, this chapter presents spiritual intelligence as both a measurable psychological construct and a path of inner evolution. It argues that spiritual intelligence integrates intellect, emotion, and intuition into a unified awareness that guides ethical action and self-realization—the essence of higher human potential.
