Abstract

This study examines the integration of spirituality into patient-centered care and its effects on holistic healing within clinical environments. Building on a mixed-methods empirical project (n = 200; 100 healthcare providers, 100 patients), the paper offers an extended literature review synthesizing definitions, measurement tools, clinical outcomes, and training interventions related to spiritual care. Quantitative results show positive correlations between provider training and confidence in delivering spiritual care, and between spiritual care delivery and patient satisfaction. Qualitative findings highlight recognition of spiritual needs, barriers to implementation, and perceived benefits for coping and resilience. The paper concludes by recommending standardized assessment, training, and institutional policies to embed spirituality within patient-centred practice. Key implications for clinical education and future research are outlined.
