PRESENCE OF COPING STRATEGIES AMONG THE SECONDARY LEVEL TEACHERS

Abstract

21st century is an age of digitalization and transformation. Due to the constant changes, to keep up with the passage of time, sometimes the students as well as teachers can’t cope with. Due to this stress, anxiety, trauma and many other issues have emerged. The researcher in this present study wanted to find out how much the secondary level of coping in distressed situation as teaching is a hectic job. The study was a quantitative descriptive study. Coping measurement scale developed by (Hamby., et al. 2012) was used to collect the data from 120 secondary level school teachers from Kolkata and Howrah District taken by Stratified random and simple random sampling. Percentage analysis was done, and the percentage of coping strategies was found out. In most of the cases there was moderate level of coping strategies among the secondary level teachers, Near-about 20-25% samples fall in high or low category. It was also observed that there was no such gap in coping strategies based on habitat area and degree or qualification rather in the caser of gender females had shown higher level of coping strategies than male.
