Abstract

This chapter investigates the psychology behind emotional manipulation force emphasizes on how emotional manipulation power can deeply affect mental health, leading to depression and trauma. We make use of research and some real-world examples to analyse the components of manipulation, its psychological impacts and its routes for resistance and recovery. This investigation enlightens how manipulation warps victim’s emotional landscapes and how various strategies of self- awareness, supportive negotiation, and boundary setting can strengthen resilience and mental healing. Emotional manipulation frequently operates through subtle and covert means, making it difficult for victims to recognize and resist, which can exacerbate feelings of confusion, helplessness, and isolation. The cumulative psychological impact often manifests as anxiety, lowered self-esteem, social withdrawal, and in severe cases, complex trauma, hindering victims’ ability to trust and build good relationship. By integrating empirical research with practical insights, this chapter also explores how early intervention through education, therapy, and supportive environments can disrupt these harmful cycles, empowering individuals to reclaim their autonomy and help people emotionally healthy for a long time.
