Abstract

The global water cycle and the dynamics of the climate are greatly influenced by atmospheric rivers (ARs), which are small, highly concentrated channels of moisture transport in the Earth's atmosphere. This essay investigates the role atmospheric rivers play in providing water to different parts of the earth as well as their impact on the dynamics and production of sea ice in the Polar Regions.
