PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF DEBT MUTUAL FUND SCHEMES IN INDIA: IMPLICATIONS FOR CONSERVATIVE INVESTORS

Abstract

Debt mutual funds play an important role in the Indian financial market by providing relatively stable returns with lower risk, making them suitable for conservative investors. However, despite their perceived safety, the performance of debt mutual fund schemes varies due to factors such as interest rate movements, credit risk, and fund management strategies. This study evaluates the performance of selected debt mutual fund schemes in India by examining their risk and return characteristics and assessing their suitability for conservative investors.
