Abstract

Technology and innovation have emerged as transformative forces in the 21st century, with significant potential to drive social change and empowerment. This paper explores how technological advancements are influencing the empowerment of women globally, focusing on the key areas of education, economic participation, healthcare, and social mobility. By breaking down traditional barriers such as geography, cultural constraints, and limited access to resources, technology offers women new opportunities for independence, economic self-sufficiency, and participation in decision-making. Mobile technology, digital platforms, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and block chain are enabling women to expand their horizons in ways previously unimaginable. However, despite these opportunities, significant challenges remain. Women continue to face barriers in access to digital resources, unequal participation in the tech workforce, and issues related to digital literacy. This paper aims to assess both the opportunities and challenges technology presents for women, drawing on global case studies to illustrate both the successes and limitations of technological empowerment. The paper concludes by proposing strategies to ensure that technology becomes a more inclusive tool for women's empowerment, with an emphasis on digital literacy, equitable access to resources, and greater participation of women in technology creation and leadership.
