Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming society, raising concerns about bias, accountability, privacy, and security. Automation is reshaping employment, displacing some roles while creating new opportunities that demand digital skills. In governance, AI supports decision-making but also requires strong legal and ethical safeguards to protect human rights. At the same time, AI can advance global sustainability through climate change mitigation, resource efficiency, and smart city development. Looking ahead, debates on artificial general intelligence (AGI), superintelligent systems, and human–machine interaction highlight both opportunities and risks. The future of AI depends on a human-centered approach that aligns innovation with ethics, balances productivity with equity, and directs technology toward a fair, inclusive, and sustainable society.
