Abstract

Human rights, which states about the equality of each and every human being, regardless of the person’s caste, creed, gender or complexion to exist as a free, expressive and educated person remains ideologically deficient until the people belonging to LGBTQ+ community are treated well without any sort of discrimination. LGBTQIA+ community is the umbrella term used for the community of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, Queer, intersexual and asexual who are integrated by societal movements and similar culture. Previously, most of the people of this community were considered inferior or with a perverted mindset. However, modernization and awareness among people contributed a lot to discontinue stigmatizing this community. Cruel practices like bullying, denial of jobs, subjecting to therapies forcibly, etc. are stopped and physical integrity rights and freedom to state their gender have been established to support the LGBTQIA+ community. To use the world’s workforce to the fullest, several social Programmes, like SMILE scheme (Support for Marginalized Individual for Livelihood and Enterprise), Project Vistaara, etc. aims towards providing all children and young people a life, void of social marginalization regardless of their gender and sexual orientation. One of the most course-changing action taken at international level is the introduction of the SOGIE Equality Bill. Hence, effective inclusion of LGBTQs in our society would contribute to a diverse workforce and protect their dignity too.
