Abstract

This study explores the role of music education in shaping core values such as discipline, empathy, collaboration, responsibility, and respect among the modern generation. Through a review of empirical findings, case studies, and qualitative narratives, the research examines how engagement in music programs—especially in group settings like orchestras, choirs, and bands—fosters essential life skills. The findings highlight the transformative potential of music education in developing not only musical abilities but also social and moral character. However, challenges related to accessibility, cultural biases, and inequality in music education are identified, underscoring the need for more inclusive, culturally relevant, and equitable approaches. The study also addresses the growing influence of digital platforms and their role in reshaping the landscape of music education in the 21st century. Ultimately, this research suggests that music education can serve as a powerful tool for character development, contributing to a more empathetic and collaborative society.
