A historic change to India’s educational system, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 replaces the 1986 policy to better meet the countries and the world’s current educational demands. It proposes a diverse, adaptable, and inclusive educational system that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and holistic growth. The National Education Policy (NEP-2020) intends to implement major changes in the educational system in order to foster moral, human, and constitutional qualities in young people and citizens. The importance of education in fostering value-based education and fostering a feeling of civic duty in citizens and youth is acknowledged by the policy. The policy aims to integrate value-based learning into the core curriculum, train instructors, and promote experiential learning. The NEP 2020 seeks to generate responsible and ethical people who can contribute productively to society. This study aims to explore the significance of value education in NEP 2020. This study discusses the challenges in the implementation of value education. This paper also highlights the suggestions for the effective implementation of value education.Published
