Abstract

In the context of growing ethical ambiguity and educational standardization, this study explores the integration of Indian philosophical thought into contemporary value education through innovative pedagogical practices. Drawing upon core principles from Vedanta, Buddhism, and Jainism—such as Dharma (righteousness), Ahimsa (non-violence), and Satya (truth)—the research employs a qualitative, content-analysis methodology. It investigates how these values can be woven into school curricula and classroom instruction using experiential learning, narrative pedagogy, and reflective practices. The study also examines the perceptions of educators and learners, revealing a shared appreciation for the cultural relevance and moral depth of Indian philosophical traditions, despite practical constraints in implementation. Findings suggest that meaningful integration fosters moral reasoning, emotional resilience, and ethical consciousness among students. The study concludes that aligning ancient Indian wisdom with modern teaching strategies can create a more holistic, value-based educational framework capable of nurturing responsible and empathetic citizens in a pluralistic world.
