ANALYTICAL STUDY OF WOMEN EMPOWERMENT AND GENDER EQUALITY IN INDIA

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the status of women empowerment and gender equality in India which are not just ultimate achievements but are basic goals to the nations of all round performance and prosperity. The collective efforts of the government’s initiatives, support of communities, civil societies, individuals only can speed up the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’ through which women can avail their opportunities. The constitutional provision of women empowerment and gender equality still remain dream. Multidimensional efforts will help to bring the dream of empowerment in reality. In India women share 50% of nation’s total population but dominant tendency always suppresses women’s issues in socio-culture, economic and political atmospheres leading resistance to developmental prosperity of the nation. Women empowerment aims to highlight self-reliance among women so as to make them capable of deciding their choices. The National Education Policy 2020 also emphasized several reforms for achievement of goals by which women attain strength and control over their own lives and attain the power to make decisive choices particularly in decision making bodies and governance.
