Abstract

The world has undergone legal, social, and economic change as a result of the digital revolution. The rise of cyberspace as a place for human contact has also brought forth a new environment for criminal activity, necessitating the development of new governing structures. Traditional police strategies that rely on geographical independence are no longer adequate in today’s transnational, digitalized society. This chapter examines the evolution of the idea of cyber policing and how it can help achieve the more general objective of “cyber justice”. It highlights the necessity of including international collaboration, moral algorithms, and constitutional protections into digital law enforcement frameworks.
