Elderly women face unique challenges due to the intersection of gender, aging, and societal norms. This paper examines the multifaceted obstacles they encounter, including chronic health issues, financial insecurity, caregiving burdens, and social isolation. Women’s longer life expectancy, coupled with gendered inequalities accumulated over a lifetime, often results in poverty, inadequate retirement savings, and limited healthcare access. Social challenges, such as ageism and underrepresentation in decision-making, further marginalize aging women. Empowerment of elderly women requires comprehensive strategies, including gender-sensitive policies, economic security, healthcare access, social support systems, and opportunities for education and leadership. By addressing these issues, society can enable elderly women to lead healthy, fulfilling lives, recognizing their valuable contributions to families, communities, and economies. A holistic approach to empowerment will foster more inclusive, sustainable communities in an aging world.Published
