Abstract

This paper explores the complex relationship between family dynamics and gender equality in the context of women’s empowerment in India. It looks at how increasing gender equality in the family might challenge established conventions and allow women to fully participate in decision-making. The importance of legislation and legal understanding in protecting women’s rights is discussed, as well as key characteristics of empowerment such as education, economic independence, and social inclusion. The importance of media and inspirational role models in overcoming prejudices and promoting gender equality is emphasized. Finally, the study discusses persisting problems such as cultural resistance, structural bias, and policy implementation gaps, offering suggestions for creating a more inclusive and equitable society.
