This study looks at gender inequality and the law in India from a socio-legal standpoint. Despite constitutional guarantees of equality, systemic discrimination against women continues in many social domains, severely affecting their opportunities and access to justice. Women face more health and safety issues, have less access to basic and higher education, have fewer economic opportunities than men, and are underrepresented in politics worldwide. Inequality and discrimination against women are daily realities in every nation on the planet. In addition to being denied opportunities to learn, earn, and lead, they experience violence, abuse, and unfair treatment at home, at work, and in their communities. It draws attention to how preconceptions are reinforced by media depictions, restricted educational opportunities, and established gender roles, further solidifying gender inequality. The study suggests that although there are legislative protections, societal variables that need immediate attention compromise their effectiveness. The report calls for comprehensive reforms that will improve understanding of legal rights, increase enforcement mechanisms, and create a supportive atmosphere for women in order to advance true gender justice. By tackling these structural obstacles, the article seeks to add to the current discussion on gender equality in India.Published
