Abstract

The Indian Knowledge System (IKS) is a holistic framework encompassing diverse components that integrate science, philosophy, culture, and spirituality. Its foundation lies in Vedas, Upanishads, and classical texts that emphasize knowledge as a means of self-realization and societal well-being. Major components include Ayurveda for health, Yoga for physical and mental balance, Mathematics and Astronomy for scientific inquiry, and Art, Literature, and Music for cultural enrichment. It also includes ethical principles, ecology, and sustainable living practices. The system blends material and spiritual dimensions, fostering harmony between humans, nature, and the cosmos, and remains relevant in contemporary global knowledge discourse.
