Within the framework of Āyurveda, this chapter provides an analytical study of Vijñānamayakośa, highlighting its cognitive, interpretive, and judging functions that contribute to human mental health. It investigates the functional anatomy of Vijñānamayakośa and its relationships with manomayakośa and prāṇamayakośa, drawing on the Taittirīyopaniṣad and other classical sources. The discussion sheds light on how Āyurvedic thought conceptualizes their integrative roles in cognition, emotion, desire, and purposeful action. The chapter clarifies Vijñānamayakośa's discernive power in directing proper comprehension and behavior by delving deeper into the dynamic interaction between doubt and knowledge. Important ideas like atattvābhiniveśa, prajñā, prajñāparādha, and buddhi are examined to show their significant impact on human thought and behavior. By connecting philosophical understanding with practical Āyurvedic principles, the chapter places Vijñānamayakośa as a crucial aspect of consciousness and intellect. It advances our understanding of the cognitive underpinnings of holistic health theories and Āyurvedic psychology.Published
