Education in the twenty-first century is undergoing significant transformation in response to rapid social change, technological advancement, globalization, and evolving learner needs. Within this dynamic context, educational research and pedagogical innovation have emerged as central forces shaping contemporary teaching–learning processes and educational systems. Educational research provides the theoretical and empirical foundation for understanding how learners learn, how teachers teach, and how institutions function, while pedagogical innovations translate research insights into effective classroom practices. This chapter examines the interdependent relationship between educational research and pedagogical innovation within a multidisciplinary framework. It explores the nature and scope of educational research, the theoretical perspectives linking research and pedagogy, and the role of innovative teaching strategies, technology integration, and assessment practices in enhancing learning outcomes. Particular attention is given to the role of teachers as researchers and innovators and to the contribution of multidisciplinary perspectives in addressing complex educational challenges. The chapter also highlights emerging challenges and future directions, emphasizing the need for context-sensitive, inclusive, and ethically grounded research-driven innovation. By strengthening the connection between research and practice, the chapter underscores how educational research and pedagogical innovation together contribute to meaningful, sustainable, and future-oriented educational transformation.Published
