Abstract

Green jobs have emerged as a key mechanism for achieving Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG 8) by integrating environmental sustainability with decent work and inclusive economic growth. This study analytically examines the role of green jobs in driving decent work dimensions, sustainable industries, and economic growth outcomes. The research adopts a quantitative methodology using primary survey data, with reliability analysis (Cronbach’s alpha), Kendall’s correlation analysis, and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) conducted through R programming. The findings reveal strong internal consistency across all constructs and significant positive relationships among green jobs, decent work, sustainable industries, and economic growth, with sustainable industries acting as a critical driver of economic growth. Although all structural paths were statistically significant, the overall SEM fit indices indicate the need for model refinement. The study concludes that green jobs, supported by decent work standards, play a vital role in promoting sustainable industrial development and economic growth under SDG 8. It suggests that policymakers and organizations should strengthen decent work policies, invest in green skill development, and support sustainable industrial practices to enhance long-term economic and environmental outcomes.
