Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has evolved from a philanthropic activity to a strategic management approach integrating social, environmental, and economic responsibilities into business operations. The adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015 strengthened the alignment between business sustainability and global development priorities. This paper examines the role of CSR in achieving the SDGs with special reference to India. It reviews theoretical foundations, analyzes Indian corporate case studies, and evaluates implementation challenges. The study finds that Indian corporations significantly contribute to poverty alleviation, environmental sustainability, gender equality, healthcare, and education through structured CSR initiatives mandated under the Companies Act, 2013. However, issues such as greenwashing, inadequate impact assessment, and strategic misalignment remain challenges. The paper concludes that strategic integration of CSR into core business models enhances both sustainable development and long-term corporate performance.Published
