Corporate sustainability has widely been established on the principles of ethical governance, which determine not just the reputation of the organization but also the performance in the long term and the trust of the stakeholders. This research paper will discuss how ethical governance influences the outcome of corporate sustainability by comparing the trends, organizational practices as well as performance indicators among various industries and firms of different sizes. The research has a mixed-method design consisting of quantitative data on the sustainability reports of the companies, financial reports and the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) values and qualitative data obtained during the interview with the corporate executives and sustainability officers and industry analysts. The findings show that those organizations that have strong ethical governance structures, i.e. those whose reporting systems, accountability systems, and ethical leadership styles are evident, have better sustainability performance, which is manifested in lower environmental impact, better social responsibility, and greater stakeholder engagement. On the other hand, a poor governance structure among corporations is characterized by difficulties in regulatory non-compliance, and lack of trust of stakeholders, and inconsistent sustainability results. Nevertheless, the research notes that such difficulties do not mean that there are no approaches that can enhance the ethical performance and governance, such as incorporating ethics into corporate policies, providing employees with constant training on corporate ethics, and implementing clear reporting and accountability systems. Through its depiction of the difference in sustainability results in response to the governance practices, this study can serve as a good reference among policy makers, corporate executives and sustainability experts who want to promote responsible and sustainable business practices. The results can be used to inform the current research on corporate governance and sustainability by providing evidence-based suggestions on how to improve the level of ethical governance and attain sustainable corporate performance.Published
