LIST OF WILD MEDICINAL FLORA WITH THEIR USES OF HARIDWAR DISTRICT, UTTARAKHAND

Abstract

Medicinal plants offer a wide range of services including monetary benefits. Medicinal plants, traditionally established as a major source of curing diseases. In view of the importance of medicinal plants marketing, the present study was conducted in the Uttarakhand state of India. The district Haridwar in Uttarakhand state has been the reservoir of natural resources including vegetational wealth. Since inhabitants and tribal communities have strong faith and belief in traditional health care system. The people in remote areas and villages area depends upon the plants for their basic requirements, myths, custom and cultural rituals. Local inhabitants have been interviewed along with herbal practicner, vaidhyas, farmers, elders, etc during the entire study for identification of plant species and their uses.
