Abstract

Nano-chemistry, an interdisciplinary field combining nanotechnology and chemistry, offers innovative solutions for environmental remediation by utilizing nanoscale materials with enhanced reactivity, selectivity, and surface area. These nanomaterials, such as nanoparticles, nanocomposites, and nanotubes, play a critical role in detecting, degrading, and removing pollutants from air, water, and soil. The unique physicochemical properties of nanomaterials enable efficient adsorption, catalytic degradation, and photocatalytic activity, making them highly effective in treating heavy metals, organic contaminants, and pathogens. Despite their promising applications, challenges related to environmental safety, toxicity, and scalability remain, necessitating further research to optimize sustainable and eco-friendly nanomaterials for large-scale environmental cleanup.
