Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a game-changing technology that is changing how people communicate, collaborate, learn, and make decisions. Beyond its effects on technology and the economy, artificial intelligence also has an impact on human psychology, specifically on personality traits like the Big Five, which include conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, neuroticism, and openness to new experiences. Researchers and practitioners alike must comprehend how AI interacts with personality as it gets more and more ingrained in social interaction, communication, and decision-making. This study reviews empirical research, theoretical frameworks, and case studies from many fields to investigate the effects of AI on various personality qualities. Automation technologies, for example, may increase conscientiousness by increasing work efficiency and organization, while AI-driven recommendation systems may increase openness by exposing people to a variety of ideas. On the other hand, an excessive dependence on AI may exacerbate neurotic traits as a result of technological dependence or obsolescence anxiety. Chatbots and virtual assistants are examples of social AI applications that have demonstrated varying effects on extraversion and agreeableness, increasing engagement for certain users while decreasing human-to-human interaction for others. Through the integration of technological analysis and psychological theory, this work emphasizes the reciprocal relationship between personality traits and AI. The results imply that although AI may strengthen beneficial psychological traits, if it is not developed and applied responsibly, it may also intensify undesirable tendencies. In order to make sure that AI deployment promotes psychological well-being and fits with a range of personality demands, the chapter ends with suggestions for AI developers, legislators, and educators.Published
