Emotional intelligence (EI) had emerged as a critical factor in effective leadership, influencing how leaders perceived, managed, and responded to emotions in themselves and others. This paper provided insights from existing literature on the relationship between emotional intelligence and leadership effectiveness. Drawing on theoretical frameworks and empirical studies, it highlighted how dimensions of EI—such as self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills—contributed to transformational, servant, and authentic leadership styles. The reviewed literature suggested that leaders with higher emotional intelligence fostered stronger interpersonal relationships, improved team collaboration, and enhanced organizational performance. Moreover, EI supported leaders in managing conflict, adapting to change, and sustaining employee engagement. Despite its recognized importance, gaps remained in standardized measurement tools and in understanding the cultural and contextual nuances of EI in leadership. Further research was recommended to explore the integration of emotional intelligence training in leadership development programs and its long-term impact on organizational outcomes.Published
