The role of caregiving for individuals with dementia is emotionally taxing and often leads to significant psychological distress and emotional breakdown in caregivers. This distress is characterized by chronic stress, depression, anxiety, burnout, and feelings of helplessness, which ultimately diminish caregivers' well-being and care quality. Understanding the emotional breakdown in dementia caregivers is critical to addressing their mental health needs. Mindfulness, a therapeutic approach rooted in present-moment awareness and acceptance, has shown promise in alleviating caregiver burden by improving emotional regulation and resilience. This article explores the emotional challenges faced by dementia caregivers, the contributing factors to emotional breakdo wn, and the efficacy of mindfulness-based interventions to mitigate these effects. The discussion highlights the complex interplay between caregiving stressors and mindfulness as a coping mechanism, emphasizing the transformative potential of mindfulness practices in promoting caregiver mental health and sustaining caregiving capacity.Published
